organizing clips from different projects

I have 4 three hour projects (interviews) that I want to organize, basically taking clips from each of them into a new project (E). What I hoped I could do is select short clips from each of them, (i.e the person's childhood stories) to create (E). But there doesn't seem to be a way to copy all the different clips into one place/ "folder" to then drop into project E. I know I can copy from a project (i.e. A), then close project A and open E, paste the clip into E, then close E and go back to A, and do the same very slow process for each clip I want to copy from the 4 different projects, and move into new project E. Any wisdom or suggestions? I guess I wish it was like Pages, where I can have multiple projects open, and move things between them easily.

I have Imovie 10.1.11.

Thanks!

Hi,

Open Project A. In the media sidebar click on the item bearing your library's name. Do a File/New Event. An event will appear under your library's name in the sidebar, bearing today's date. Rename it Event Project E. Then click on the item bearing the name of Project A, under the Project Media heading at the top of the side bar. The clips in the project will display in the browser. Drag a clip or selected group of clips from the Project Media brower display into Event Project E. The browser will display the clips in Event Project E. Go back to your Project Media to display the project media. again. Drag whatever other clip or clips that you want into Event Project E. Then go to Projects B, C, and D and drag the clips from their Project Media displays into Event Project E. When you've got all the clips that you want into Event Project E , create a Project E and drag the clips from Event Project E into the Project E.

I hope I said that clearly.
