Keeping fewer photos on iPhone 6s than in iCloud and MacBook
I wish to have recent photos on my iPhone and keep all my photos on the MacBook backed up to icloud. Is this possible?

If you are using iCloud Photos, any photos that you delete from the phone will be deleted from iCloud and all other devices signed into iCloud on which iCloud Photos is being used.

I was asking the question partly because on Settings-iPhone storage it shows that Photos is using 1.1GB for 40 photos. What is wrong with the phone?
