The well known issue of T2 Chip causing audio glitches when using 2.0 USB interfaces still exists.
When is this problem going to be fixed?
The workarounds and partial fixes are not solutions. If this issue isn't resolved soon I'll have to use Windows machines in upcoming audio installations.
Please Apple, fix this.

As to when or if the issue will be resolved, nobody here can know that as we don’t work for Apple. Appleinsider reported on it in February but that was the only report of the issue I have seen, so there doesn’t appear to be any news about it.

The information is all over the pro audio forums and forums on pro audio interface sites. There is plenty of news regarding the issue and Apple has acknowledged the problem. I understand this is a community forum. I’m attempting to increase the visibility of the issue.
“solutions are 1) Get a Thunderbolt or USB3.0 audio interface, or 2) Use a Certified Thunderbolt 3 powered hub (not a bus-powered or cheap non-certified hub)”
So what part of that isn’t doable for you? Fix for USB 2.0 incompatibility is USB 3.0. Just do it.
What USB audio interface are you using?
I have RME Babyface Pro which suffered from the T2 USB bug.
macOS 10.14.4 seems to have fixed the issue (confirmed on their forum).
I found a solution before the mac OS update adding a Thunderbolt 3 Dock.
