What version of MS office is req'd with Majove?
MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.14
2016 and 2019 definitely work, along with a 365 subscription.
I think 2011 works for the most part, but is not supported by Microsoft anymore.
I don't know if 2008 still works, but it was such a steaming pile, I wouldn't use it if it did.
If you are planning to upgrade to macOS 10.next this Fall, then you will want one of the flavors of Office 2016/2019/Office365 as they are fully 64-bit compatible, and prior Office releases (32-bit) will not run in 10.next. Microsoft's support policy is the same as Apple now, current operating system and the previous, two major releases.
Microsoft even admitted they did not test Office 2011 for Mac on High Sierra, or Mojave. So no comfort factor in that message.
It's slow and kludgy, but that was Word 2011 regardless of platform.

FWIW, there are a number of people running Office 2011 on Mojave.
