What version of Office. 2011 and earlier are no longer supported by Microsoft and are not compatible with Catalina.
2016 is compatible, but you'll have to make sure you have the latest updates for it from Microsoft.

You can't. Microsoft is going to charge to upgrade.
You might check out LibreOffice and find out if meets your needs. It is free.

Thanks, I learned that the hard way, lol, unfortunately. I did look at the 365 but just downloaded the Libreoffice that was recommended and it will serve my need for right now. Thanks again.
