Photo app displays "Opening and ending tag mismatch" when I attempt to share photos to Flickr.

Apple does no longer support the sharing of photos to Flickr or facebook from Photos. In Photos 4.0 on Mojave the sharing extensions for Flickr and Facebook have been completely removed. This my also have impacts on the sharing of photos from earlier versions of Photos. I cannot test this on my Macs, because I am using Photos 4.0 on Mojave.

Apple stoped the sharing to Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo integration last year when Mojave came out. This social media can no longer be set up in the system preferences as sharing accounts. The reason given was the improved security measures in Mojave and iOS 11 and 12. The ApplePhotos User Guide recommends to purchase sharing extensions from the AppStore to share photos to social media. The problem is, I have not yet found any sharing extensions to replace the old sharing to Flickr. I hope they will come soon, see: Share photos using other apps and websites in Photos on Mac - Apple Support
Apple did not yet update the Photos 3.0 / High Sierra version of this Help page. It still pretends that the built-in sharing extensions are working.
I believe it's up to the developers to provide an extension for Photos to allow sharing with their site. Until them while at the site use the upload feature provided and in the browser window for uploading go to the Media section in the sidebar, select Photos and then select the images to upload:

I am running High Sierra on a 2011 iMac, and the Flickr extension gave me this same message for the first time this morning. This is disappointing. Any idea on Apple's reasoning? Are they starting their own photo sharing site our something?
Oh sure. I just export the image(s) to the desktop, then drag it onto the Flickr upload window.
I realize this is slow, but it works for me, as I participate in a photo-a-day group. So that's just something I do every morning.
Hey, at this point, whatever works! :-)
Is it up to Flickr? Bt yes, I can ask. Posting directly fromFlick to Facebook is messed up, too, and has been for several months. SmugMug has work to do with their new acquisition.
I found a workaround, but thank you.
Care to share the workaround with us?
Old school, I see. 😃
Contact Flickr and ask them to expedite an extension for Photos to upload to their site.
