Can't Play Videos I Just Recorded

I just switched (for the 1st time) from S to Apple; in hopes it will be more 'secure.'

My kiddos are going to kill me, but I bought the SE. I'm afraid I may just have to get used to It though - I just passed the Target 20 day return timing. Ugh.

There are multiple things going on, but I'll search-n-post separately, hoping they are unrelated.

So, I just recorded a teeny video via the Photos app on this device. I then hit play.. via the same app, on the same device and attached is what it responds with.

How is this possible?
