what happens to my iTunes account now?

Unbelievably, I can't find info on it anywhere.

This would be due to that change being implemented in the fall, not now. It was only just announced and is not in place yet.

While iTunes may be going away, it is to be replaced with multiple apps to allow access to your current music.

Nothing changes for Windows users anytime soon. The change to iTunes is on macOS Catalina (and onward) only. The accounts stay the same, the library stays the same, only that application changes. Older Macs will be able to keep using iTunes as well.

Will I still be able to upload CDs to my computer and transfer them to Apple Music and sync with my phone?

And, what if I don't store my current iTunes songs in iCloud, how do I transfer everything to Apple Music when the time comes? I read that iCloud will make the transfer but I keep back ups of everything on an external drive.

What happens top all the music I've downloaded from my CD collection to iTunes on my windows computer?

Will I have to pay for a subscription to Apple Music? I hope not.
