Desktop Mac pro

Cannot move icon on desktop. When I select one it jumps back to original position Forded quit finder twice no luck

Click on the Desktop, click View in the menubar, click Show View Options and what ever Sort By and or Arrange By (or Stack By) to None, this will stop the icons jumping back when you move them,

Desk of Macbook Air Hi, for two days I have not been able to move the icons that are on the desktop to another position (always on the desktop). They return to the starting position. I don't known what is the problem.

DESKTOP ICONS NOT CONTROLLABLE with Mac OS Ventura 13.1 I've just installed Mac OS Ventura 13.1 on my MacBook Pro and can't move my desktop icons as before. When I try to move them, they immediately snap back into their opening location. Any suggestions about how to resolve this?

There is a Finder Desktop preference for locking icons on the Desktop or to a grid. I don't recall if this is a System Preference or whether a preference found on one of the Finder menus on the menu bar.
