I wonder if anyone can help. I am trying to delete an app off a MacBook Air. I have gone to Launchpad and then held down on the app but it (not any of the apps) doesn’t shake and no cross appears. I then went to Finder and clicked on Application folder but it is blank. Firstly why can’t I delete the app and secondly why is the application folder bland when I do have apps? The apps open no problem when I click on them. I would be grateful for any help.

Try starting up in Safe mode. It may take a while to load. Then restart normally.

Select reinstall Mac OS from the Utilities menu.

A possible cause of the problem is third-party fonts. Safe mode disables some stuff temporarily but the issue could recur. If it does, you may have to get rid of whatever app or font is at the root of it. Happy computing!
