De Registering Imessage

Hello,

I lost my phone and had to get an android from Wal Mart. I went on the selfserve thing, put in my phone number to receive code to de register but I am still not receiving text messages from people with Iphones. Please help, suggestions? Apple support online hasn't been able to figure out.
