2013 Mac Pro with New Apple HDR Display

I have a 2013 Mac Pro with Dual AMD FirePro 300 Graphics cards. Would like to use this existing computer with the new Apple HDR Display just announced yesterday. Can anyone advise if this is possible either using my current setup or with mods to it?

Thanks!

Powerful partnerships. Pair Pro Display XDR with Mac Pro to create the ultimate professional workstation. Or connect it to another Mac with Thunderbolt 3.

So, no, not on that Mac Pro. It does not offer ThunderBolt-3 or a high enough resolution to drive that display.

A quick look around does not show another Mac capable of the full resolution, but you might be able to run it at a lower resolution if you had ThunderBolt-3. The iMac Pro might handle that.

The number of pixels goes up as the square of the screen size, so the data rate required to draw that screen will be fearsome. Forget about "Legacy" interfaces as well. -- it will need DisplayPort Alt mode, featured in ThunderBolt-3.
