Unable to Access Email

Since the 10.14.5 update, l am suddenly unable to access my Gmail account using Mac Mail 12.4. To log-in I am redirected via Safari to complete an authentication process. Am I paranoid or do these conditions seem strident?

Just say “Allow” and continue without worry.

You may then get a usual annoying warning email from Google which is normal.

Google and Mojave between them require more authorisation than before.

Oauth2 seems a bit clunky in Mojave
