Files from my new Sony a7iii will open in Photos and in Photoshop but not in Aperture. Files from my older a7ii will open just fine in Aperture, but not files from the a7iii. Using High Sierra 10.13.4. Help!

Use the Sony software to develop the RAW files and convert them to another lossless format, like TIFF. Then import the TIFF files to Aperture. Or use Adobe's DNG Converter to create DNG files.
But frankly, Aperture is a lost cause by now. The next system version, Catalina, will no longer be able to run Aperture at all. It is time to find a replacement, while you still have a Mac that can run Aperture and help with the migration.

Aperture is not being updated withe the latest RAW Profiles. This is my workaround: Use Adobe's DNG Converter to import from your card and convert the Raw's to DNG's. Them open a new Project in Aperture and import the DNGs into Aperture.
But Aperture does support the raws from the Sony a7ii, just not the a7iii. There must be a workaround for this
If the raw from the a7ii and the a7iii were the same then they'd be the same camera. It a very large part of what makes the two cameras different. Also, you're using software that has been dead for 5 years. This day was always going to come. Now it's here.
There is no workaround for this, without converting the files as Léonie says.
There is no help. Aperture has not been developed for almost 5 years now, and does not support the raws from newer cameras and never will.
But Aperture does support the raws from the Sony a7ii, just not the a7iii. There must be a workaround for this. Does Sony supply firmware or something for their newer cameras?
