Uninstalling Avast software without password

Before I was an enthusiastic Mac-user I had a subscription on a professional Avast anti-virus etc -program. On my MacBook Pro I didn't install Avast at that time.

A few days ago I did instal a free Avast AntiVirus program. But I really want to UN-instalL it right away, now it does ask for passwords I don't have, because there is no Avast Account on my name.

Trying rot get in contact with Avast is impossible, their helpdesk is a jungle in which only experts can find their way, at least : I can't.

Using the regular Mac 'remove apps-'method doesn't work . Who knows what does?

Does Avast still have an uninstall menu item? If it installed anything into System areas, it will prompt you for your adminstrator password to complete the removal.

I believe you were asked for you mac password, not any sort of avast account password.

If all else fails & likely the 2 great advises so far will work, but this app will show all the hidden Avast stuff...
