How to accept terms and conditions in my Mac?

Hey all!

I am trying to redeem a code in the Mac app store, and an error pops up saying "You must read and agree to the new Terms & Conditions in order to proceed". The problem is that they don't send me anywhere to accept the terms. I have open the link for the new terms and read it, but there is no place to formally "accept" the terms.

I am able to download other free apps in the store, but the problem comes up when I try redeeming a code.

Would appreciate your help!

This didn't work this time.

This is the message in the Mac App Store:

And this message comes up when I try to redeem the code in iTunes:

Clicking on the "Terms and Conditions" link in the App Store only launches Safari without any sort of agreement button, and there is no button to open the T&C in the App Store.

Someone had the same problem a few years ago and solved it by downloading a new free app and agreeing to the new T&C, but when I tried this, the app simply downloaded without asking for anything.

Open the iTunes app on your Mac. Open the Store. In the Quick Links on the right side of the page select Account. Sign in to view your account details and any new Terms & Conditions will usually pop up before you are taken to the account details.

Let me know if this works, it's been awhile since I recommended this.

I will try to be more explicit as my instructions were not about redeeming your code.

My instructions were about getting you to a position to accept the new Terms & Conditions.

After accepting the Terms & Conditions in the iTunes Store account details, I expected that you would then return to the MAS and be able to use your code.

Follow my instructions again and forget about attempting to use your code and concentrate on accepting the Ts&Cs.

To update: On the phone with Apple support, and one suggested my particular problem might be that I'm trying to download older software to a newer system, so tried downloading to the older system I'm planning on installing to, but had the same result.

I'm coming to the conclusion that there's a glitch somewhere in the App Store server code, particular to redeeming codes…

Further update: Installed High Sierra 10.13 on a new partition, did system updates, signed into App Store, and when I entered the download code I finally got the drop-down to agree to new Terms and Conditions. Not sure whether it was setting up the new system partition and account, or the App Store got a server-side update, but the code finally worked. At this point, Launchpad is showing 1.3 GB of 4.72 total downloaded…

One thing to try if anyone else is still having this issue: Add a new user account in Users & Groups, then log into the App Store and see if the code works from the new account.
