Touch Screen Problems

What are some suggestions on fixing the problems when part of the touch screen doesn't work. For example, I have my music app at the very bottom of the screen on "the dock" or "menu bar" and when i try to open it the touch doesn't work but if i open another app the touch screen works fine at the very same spot as my music app where it didn't work. I am also not able to swipe up to get to the control center at all. Any help or suggestions is appreciated.
