MacBook Air Early 2014 will not power on

There is a green light on AC adapter. If you take the back off and unplug the battery for a couple of hours the system will turn on, about 5 minutes after pressing the power button. When the system sits unused, shutdown or a sleep, for 6 or more hours it will not power on. You have to take the back off, unplug the battery for a couple of hours(tried pressing the power button), reassemble the system, press the power button then after a few minutes you here the chime and the system turns on. The system then runs as normal. You can turn it off come back in a few hours and turn it back on. All normal. But if you let it sit over night the system will not power on.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Anyone know what is wrong?

Next time disconnect the battery and then connect the charger. Power on the laptop, then hot plug the battery and leave it charge for a while before restarting or turning off the laptop. If the battery was depleted, then make sure it charges to at least 10%. You may need to perform another SMC reset while using the laptop with the battery disconnected.

Check the condition of the battery by Option clicking the battery icon on the menu bar. If the condition is anything but "Normal" or "Good", then the battery needs to be replaced. You may also want to run the Apple Diagnostic. I've seen lots of MBAir Logic Boards fail in this manner as they get older.
