apple keyboard draining battery

Apple keyoards for Ipad pro are draining the battery in a couple of hours. Has been identified in forum as deffective and was replaced by apple in some cases (even after warranty). Took mine to apple store and they refused to replace it. It is clearly a deffect in their product and they should own to it. The response was throw it away and buy a new one.
