Why is my App Store app using so much data?

my wife’s phone is burning through a lot of data. I have her on the 6 gig plan and is burning it for the last couple months. When I went in to see what all of her data was being used the App Store app showed 3.2gb used. What could be causing that much data usage? I have everything turned off and to only update her apps when she’s connected to WiFi. Am I missing something? She has an iPhone XS
