27" mid 2011 Lion to High Sierra?

Hi, I have mid-2011 27" iMac, Lion 10.7.5 which has been upgraded to Sierra.

Is it OK to upgrade to High Sierra, and if so, on to the next one?

You can upgrade that machine to High Sierra but it is the end of upgrades for it.

Any reason to upgrade from El Capitan to High Sierra? I have a mid 2009 Mac Pro and I'm running El Capitan. High Sierra is not supported. Is there a workaround to upgrade to High Sierra and are the benefits worth the trouble to upgrade? Any help is greatly appreciated
