Saving multiple clips
Copying and saving a number of text clippings in succession, and then being able to paste them wherever and in whatever order one wants, is a valuable extension of Apple’s one-at-a-time single-clipboard system. On the Mac, several apps exist that enable this; I have found CopyPaste Pro and Copied particularly good, quick and easy to use. But on the iphone, things are not quite so simple.
There is no iOS version of CopyPaste Pro at present. There is an iOS version of Copied, and it has the great advantage of linking with the corresponding app on one’s Mac. (It also has its own browser, in which copying and saving clips from the Net is straightforward.) But it is not at all obvious how to copy and save multiple clips other than from its own browser, and I have found the FAQs and instructions on the Copied website mystifying, not to say incomprehensible. At the least, they seem not to apply to my phone, which is an iphone 7. But after much experimenting, I have found that the process is actually very simple and quick, and so I thought it might be useful to other readers of these Discussions if I posted instructions here. There are two simple methods: either 1. select text, 2. choose ‘Share’, 3. click on ‘Save to Copied’; or 1. select text, 2. choose ‘Copy’, 3. open Copied, wait for click to sound.
I hope this may prove useful to others.
