Hello guys, i have to change the logic board twice for the AMD 6770m gpu problem.
Now im thinking in change the thermal paste, i'm a pro user, but since i changed the logic board in 2017 i stopped edit videos here, just using Lr e PS, AI.
Can u advice me with the best thermal past for MBP ?
Understood. Your fans are shown running at 6k rpm. Looks like a problem to me unless you have forced them to run at high speed. I've used very basic thermal paste on these Macs before and temperatures are just fine when running a system stress test. Arctic Silver is usually considered good. I would not recommend a metallic (hence conductive) paste since you must be very careful with the application.
What usually causes these GPUs to fail are the thermal changes from hot to cold which stresses & breaks the solder joints. Running hot within parameters is not typically the cause of the failures.
I don't think thermal paste is your problem as those temperatures are all Ok except for the "GPU Die - Analog" which is much too low. I think the system believes there is an issue with that sensor so the system is running the fans at high speed to protect the computer.
Even a low quality thermal compound should work well enough if it is properly applied. Of course a higher end thermal paste will drop temperatures a bit more and may last longer.
Run the Apple Hardware Test to see if it reports a problem.
hey man, actually im not with the GPU problem, i already changed the logic board, but a 2 years ago, now im thinking in thermal paste just to avoid the logic board replacement... so in this screen shot there's nothing anormal because the pro programs are not running, but if i start illustrator or lightroom i'll work with 87/90Cº easily
