Highlighting in Books on iPad across pages

Is there an easy way to highlight across pages? I found a workaround which involves making the text smaller or bigger to force it onto the same page as the rest of the text you want to highlight but this is cumbersome.

Books IPad OS - Underline feature pdf This is a basic issue that has not yet been resolved. I am not able in iPad OS(12.9) Books app to only underline, the system forces me to highlight in colour, and then thereafter to select the underline feature, then only delete the colour highlight. This has been the case for a few months, but it has not been addressed. Is anyone having the same problem?

Highlight text I just installed ios16. I’ve been highlighting text while reading books using my kindle app on my iPhone 13 with ios15 installed. I press and hold & the word highlight in blue but doesn’t stay highlighted and I don’t see any color options like I did in ios15. I tried while searching in safari’ and can’t get highlight to work on any text. Any clues??????

This is a far from perfect solution but turning on Scrolling View should do the trick.
