"...try again later" is not helpful

"We've run in to a problem.....try again later" I have tried to fill in the form about a dozen times! It's driving me mad! All I want to have on the iPhone is a number of free apps and the form keeps demanding that I repeatedly fill in credit card details and security code.

Why is it so difficult and complicated to get a simple id? How did Apple get a reputation for being user friendly?

Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.


Try a restart.


Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch


Try a forced restart.


Reset Device


If necessary, contact iTunes Support. Either use the form or scroll to the bottom of the page in the 2nd link. Follow through the screens to get a chat or telephone option.  You may need to pick a problem that is slightly different than yours to get a chat option.
