Command “F” in Files

When I press “command F” in the files application it does not allow me to search my pdf document for key words. But when I search That same document on safari before I download it, I am able to search for key words. Is my files app malfunctioning?

The search function on iPad is application dependent.

You happen to use an external keyboard. Perhaps this, from the iPad User Manual, which is written for iPad users without an external keyboard, will be useful to you anyway.
