Search bar in iTunes doesnt work

Why does the search bar not work when I look up artists or songs?

iMac 21.5", macOS 10.14

In the store or in your library? If you click the magnifying glass is Search Entire Library ticked or not? Personally I prefer the behaviour when not ticked which filters the current view.

Search in iTunes Store not working I used to be able to search for a song in the iTunes store, find it and purchase the song. The search bar "IN" the iTunes store is gone... now the search bar is on the side/dashboard and it only searches in the music player (which I have no interest in subscribing to)... How do I search in the iTunes store? In Apple Music (Big Sur edition) there is an "iTunes store" thingumy in the left side bar, so I click it. Then I type something in the search field top left, but it immediately switches to "search in your library". So how do I actually search in the iTunes Store?
