Can I use a magnetic phone mount and place the magnet directly on my phone or will it damage my internal stuff

Magnetic phone mounts are fine. Personally, I'd be cautious about sticking anything directly to the phone as it might be hard to remove later or might leave nasty adhesive residue that could affect resale or trade-in value.
