Hi everyone

Hello everyone,

I currently have re-imaged my Mac to the factory version > OS X 10.7.5 and having hard time to upgrade to El Capitan.

The issue is I was able to navigate to the OS (El Capitan) on the AppStore but couldn't download and install it on my mac. Please see screenshots.

The errors indicate that I need to update the software, but when I did "Software Update" from the "apple" logo, it says "Your software is up to date".

Anyone know how to fix this, your help would be much appreciated.

So this is a Catch-22 that Apple introduced where you want to upgrade from Mac OS X Lion, but you have to update your payment information, in order to upgrade, but you can't update your payment information because you need to upgrade first. The way around this is to use another Mac you have or can borrow that has El Capitan or later on it, login to the App Store using the Apple ID you use on your Mac OS X Lion Mac and update your payment information. Once that has been confirmed you should now be able to go back to your Mac and sign in to the App Store and download El Capitan.
