powering up iPad 1st Generation

I'm unable to get past the apple logo on my ipad. I tried plugging it into Itunes and I'm still unable to get it to work. Any suggestions?

Reboot your iPad. Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time (keep holding past the swipe to shut down), until you see the Apple Logo, then let go and hopefully your iPad will reboot.
