apple pencil charging inconvinience

Just bought iPad 6th gen and I bough the Apple Pencil with it too. I am a student at a university and I bought it to take notes. But what I find out is that the pencil is dead a lot of the times when I go to class so I have to wait in order to take notes losing the profesor and having to catch up. The charging experience is very inconvenient as I can’t store the iPad while I have the pencil plugged in. I would run the risk of snapping it while in my backpack. Has anyone come out for a better way to charge the pencils while stored to come to a fully charged pencil before class?

Who else has a similar problem with the charging of the Apple Pencil 1st generation?

I just plug my pencil in every night overnight with the cable adapter, when I plug my iPad Pro in overnight. Both are then always freshly charged in the morning and both last me through my work day (and my Pencil is 2.5-3 years old or so now).

You could also use the cable and adapter with a fairly small portable lithium powerbank to charge the pencil on the go without having to plug it into the iPad.

The pencil has such a small battery though, you’d not need a very big portable battery to recharge it. Then just carry the battery, a short usb-lightening cable and the female-female adapter that came with the pencil (which you can buy more of if needed off amazon or other sites).

Battery banks of 3000 to 6000 mAh batteries on Amazon are as inexpensive as $20. Something like that should easily get your pencil through two or three days of use.

Thank you Michael,

that makes sense but what if you forget to charge it because your super busy. My iPad last a couple days with the charge so I don’t really charge it every night but the pencil does not. Maybe it’s something with the pencil because mine only goes for about a day and the next day I want to use it it’s dead. Just a really bad design when it comes to charging it.
