Watch ecg configuration on vacation in Australia

I am a US citizen who Bought an Apple Watch 4 at home in USA and took it with me to Australia. Can’t set up the ecg function here - even though it’s a US watch. Not coming back for a couple of months! I am depending on the heart monitor functions to be working here.
