2 step verification? trying to change my trusted phone number that I no longer have why does it send a pin to it even after I click no longer have device? cant they just email it to me? I know my user id/email & password.

Try going to Apple.com and login to your Account Settings. Your old phone number may still be located there.

Just to be a bit more specific, click on the "Shopping Bag" icon in the top right corner of Apple.com. You will be able to find the Apple.com Account Settings there.
You can also click on the link below to have Apple call you instead of text messaging you a six-digit confirmation code.
