Macbook Media Key cannot control VLC Player

I experienced this problem recently after update. By pressing on my Play or Pause button on my keyboard triggers iTune instead of controlling VLC like it used to.

Simply go to System Preferences> Security & Privacy> Accessibility> check VLC Player

Pause/Play Key Not behaving in El Capitan I'm not entirely sure whether this happened as a result of the El Cap update, but the pause/play key on my Macbook Air stopped behaving correctly. It used to only affect either spotify or itunes, so while I was browsing chrome and found a video, I could pause my music with the key, and hit space to play the video. Now, the pause key only affects the video, even if I have my spotify window open. I've seen solutions that say chrome extensions could be hijacking the function, but I don't have any that do so, and I can't figure anything out. Any suggestions?

media keys Hello there, my media keys "play/pause" , "forward", "backward" do not work anymore under Mojave 10.14.5. I already googled a little and mostly found this possible issue: https://major.io/2014/07/30/playpause-button-stopped-working-in-os-x-mavericks/ But: I do not have Chrome installed. Does anyone have any idea what's could be wrong? Greets, Michael

Mac OS Big Sure Issues. I have a Macbook Air, 13 inch, 2018, compatible for Mac OS Big Sur. My Music playback control keys F7, F8 and F9 doesn't work when I upgraded. Tried even changing the Fn keys config in Keyboard Preferences. Any help or bug fix?
