iCloud Junk Mail - rampant False Positives
The issue is with Junk Mail. iCloud mail is incorrectly marking some incoming mail to me as junk—making many False Positives. For example, a Reply to an email I sent out to a client of mine came in marked as Junk. At other times, the Junk labeling seems totally random. Some mail from certain Sender gets marked as Junk, and other times, it comes in as legit. I have many instances of this happening.
Also, in the Mail app on my MacBook Pro, I had the Junk preferences set to “mark as Junk but leave in Inbox”. However, it would still move the Junk (both real Junk and false positives) to the Junk Folder.
I have since turned off the Junk Filter entirely in the Mail app on the computer. However, an Apple support person explained to me that there is Junk mail filtering going on at the iCould level that I can’t control. I believe there are problems there.
My sense is that this has all gotten worse since last week when iCloud Mail was down for a period of time (it was down for several hours worldwide at one point last week, correct?).
My question then is, other than constantly going through my Junk Mail folder looking for the many False Positives, what else can I do?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
P.S. One other separate issue, that I mentioned to the support guy: I created multiple support tickets on iCloud to have them call me at my number (323) 841-7872. However I kept getting emails claiming that they were trying to call me but it was going straight to voicemail. This is incorrect. No incoming calls came through from Apple to my number. No voicemails. My phone was on and working fine, receiving calls. The only explanation is that Apple was calling the wrong number! I solved it by calling Apple support myself, obviously. But that's a different issue, just thought I'd vent about it;)
