New Watch New Problems

The side button on my new Apple Watch doesn't seem to be working. What am I doing wrong?

Probably doing nothing wrong. Try a forced reset by pressing and holding both the Digital Crown and side button (together at least 10 seconds) until the Apple logo appears, then release the buttons and let the watch reboot. If this doesn’t produce the Apple logo or it doesn’t fix the problem, Contact Support and get the watch checked for hardware defects.
