printing with Mojave and Preview 10.1; can't use custom paper size

I can't get the custom paper size to work when printing with Mojave and Preview 10.1. I can't even see the custom paper size when I go to Paper size in the Printer Features section. What gives?

Ventura print dialog seems to be broken when printing custom sizes I am trying to print using a custom paper size on an Epson P800 on Ventura 13.3.1. I am using the latest firmware and drivers from Epson, and am not using Airprint. Using Preview gives me all the printer options, but when I select a custom paper size I get this error message (in print progress) If I go into Advanced printer settings, the custom sizes I have created are not listed. This is the basic print dialog with 250x516mm selected, and the preview showing correctly. And if I scroll down and click on the (very unintuitive) little i next to printer features.. I get the advanced options, but showing only standard paper sizes Could it be that the printer thinks the paper selected in advanced settings is the correct one? Surely these should match, or at least the custom sizes should be available in the advanced options? Either way, from Preview or Affinity Photo, I cannot get my printer to print this custom size. What is going on here?

'Show more details' not available when printing, Mac Monterey I'm trying to print with a label printer, I have its software downloaded and selected when adding it as a printer. But when I try to print, the system does not give me an option for 'Show more details'. When I hit 'print', the file goes directly to print queue and start printing without giving me the option for more advanced print settings. 'Show more details' settings allow me to select more advanced printing options, including adding a custom paper size: 4x6. I cannot use the label printer unless I can add this new paper size for obvious reasons. I've tried everything I can find on the internet, nothing works - it's still not showing 'show more details'. Default paper sizes does not have 4x6 or dimensions that is suitable for the labels.

Printing on a Xerox 210 with Mac Pro I want to print with Xero 210 enhanced dpi. I am using Big Sur in a MacBool Pro.. I am having problems changing the settings. The instructions on the 'print' page on the left show a coloured water melon and arrow to the image and to a box above which allows to change the page from 1 to 2 and 3. These pages allow me access to the pages I want. I only have 1 page indicated and is not allowing to access the advanced settings. What do I do. All the configuratio sheets, manual and publicity say the printer will do both 600 dpi and enhanced. They say the 210 works with Big Sur and yet there is something making the advanced pages inaccessible. (It works fine otherwise but was bought specifically to print graphics for art work.

Thanks Old Toad. It seems to work now when I unclick the box for "Scale to fit paper size" on the Paper handling page (which seems counter-intuitive to me).

Boot into Safe Mode and try custom size from there. If you can reboot normally and try again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing some system cache cleaning, volume verifying and directory repairing.
