burning dvd fail

How do you fix dvd burn error code 0x80020063? I've tried with 4 discs. Two were Memorex DVD+RW 4.7GB. error message said I needed more disc space. So I both Verbatim DVD+R DL with capcity 8.5GB. After writing it to the external disc drive I get error message "error code 0x80020063" and disc ejects with half burning done.

Very Frustrating!!

What version of iDVD are you using?

What system version are you running?

Where is iDVD located and is it on an APFS volume?

Where is the project file located?

How long is the project (from the Project ➙ Project Info menu)?

What type of media is making up the project, i.e. videos, still slideshows?

If there are videos involved have you edited any of the original video after they were added to the project?

Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:

Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.

To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.

Then burn to disk with Disk Utility at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

iDVD only creates video DVDs projects and burns them to disc Unless you're trying to create a video DVD you don't want iDVD. It doesn't work well with the current systems and is only available thru the purchase of older iLife 09 discs.

What exactly are you trying to create? What type of files are you trying to burn? Do you have a built in optical drive or an external one?

If you are trying to burn a video/movie file to disc and be able to play it on a set top DVD player on a TV you will need a DVD authoring app to create the project and burn it to disk image or disc. There are many possible candidates at the App Store. Just search for DVD.
