When I am editing the audio in FCPX, under Audio Enhancements>Pan>Mode>Basic Surround. I use the Surround Panner for the background music, unbelievable feature! However, when I close out the project and reopen, none of the settings are saved and I have to redo the entire audio. Not fun, need fix fast, please send all troops.

Unfortunately it’s a know bug. Once you have the pan settings done you might try a project XML export to preserve them. It’s clumsy but it might save you some work.
Have you tried using the Duplicate Project feature?
Also if FCP X acts abnormally, reset it.
Hold Option-Command as you launch FCP X.

I tried duplicate projects and still when I close out FC and reopen it, just the Surround Panner settings are changed to default, yet the Mode will say Basic Surround (edited), even though the attributes are not there. I also tried the reset, will probably be very handy option down the road thanks, but it did not seem to work either. All of the other setting/presets/etc still continue to be saved properly, it's only the Surround Panner that is affected.
