Apple Watch 4

Replacing Watch 1 with Watch 4.

How do I back up the 1?

Do I need to delete the Watch app from my phone before installing the new app for the 4?

I have four years of history in the Activity app on my Watch 1. Any risk of losing this history by installing the new Watch 4?

You should be backing up to your iPhone (and if you are doing iCloud updates it is backing up your Watch data to iCloud). If you are backing up your iPhone to your computer instead you need to make sure you are doing an encrypted backup.

No, don't delete the Watch app. You should not lose your history when you pair the new one (unpair the old one first) but just in case make sure you have a backup.
