How do I retrieve deleted contacts from my iPhone

If you were syncing the contacts to iCloud, go to iCloud.com/Settings/Advanced/Restore Contacts using a computer browser.
If you weren't syncing contacts to iCloud, restore from your backup.
Restoring from a backup erases all data currently on your device. Any data newer than when the backup was made will be erased. A restore is an all or nothing restore.
