I have my daughter's old iphone 5.
She logged it out and did a factory reset.
I set up a new icloud account but now when I try to enter the password I get the error message "Verification failed. This user is not active."
Can anyone tell me how to sort it out please?

Okay - if it's not working on a computer then you want to reach out to Apple Support directly. Click on the Contact Us link in the upper right corner.

No, I can't log into that account on a pc either, I get the same error message. I had to set up another account to post this question. And I can't change the phone to the second account because you have to log into the first account to change anything.
