iBook Author latest version
I downloaded the latest version of iBook Author from the App Store, but when I try to open a .iba file, it says I need the latest version. Where do I get this?

Are you running on macOS Mojave or are you on an earlier version of OS X? If you're on Mojave and it's still not working, have you tried updating to 10.14.5?
Regardless, you could try uninstalling your current iBook Author app by dragging it from your Applications folder to the Trash, emptying the Trash, and downloading it again.
