Netflix Glitch on Fullscreen

Whenever I try to watch something fullscreen on netflix, my screen keeps flashing a yellow screen. I have no idea what this is.

I have a 12” Macbook by the way.

Hello isa179,

We're glad you came back. Since this is only happening with the Netflix website, have you followed these steps:

"If Safari doesn't load pages from a specific site

If only one webpage or website isn't working, you can remove data related to that site to see if it fixes the issue. Use these steps to remove cookies, cache, and other data stored by Safari for a specific site:

1 - Choose Safari > Preferences.

2 - Click the Privacy icon.

3 - Click the Details button.

4 - Search for the name or domain of the website whose data you want to remove. (You'll want to search for Netflix)

5 - In the results list, click the domain (Netflix.com) that has data you want to remove.

6 - Click Remove.

7 - When you're finished, click Done and close the preferences window."

You'll find these steps an a screenshot of what the Privacy window should look like in this article: If Safari doesn't load a page or webpage items are missing.

Let us know what happens.

Hi isa179,

Great information. First, check to see if this is occurring with other Netflix titles. Next, check another website where you can watch full-screen videos. Are there any issues with the other titles on Netflix, or with the other websites? This information will help to isolate the issue to see if it’s only with the Netflix website or all websites.

If you find it’s with all websites, check out this article: If Safari doesn't load a page or webpage items are missing. While the page is loading, the items discussed in this article can all affect the playback when you change to full-screen. Let us know the results.

Cheers!

If you boot into another admin user account, does the same thing happen? If not, in your normal user account, try running this program in your normal user account, then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by etresoft, a frequent contributor.  Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy Report” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown. If the log won’t post, try posting it in Pastebin and provide a link in a reply        Pastebin

Hello isa179,

Thanks for reaching out on the Apple Support Communities. I see that you’re having some issues when you go to watch Netflix fullscreen on your 12” MacBook. I see no one has responded to your post yet. Here are a couple of things that might help others answer your question:

1 - Are you watching using Safari or a third-party app from the App Store? If you’re not using Safari, does the same thing happen in Safari?

2 - Does this happen with all movies from Netflix, or only certain ones?

3 - What is the macOS version number that the MacBook is running?

Cheers!
