MacBook Pro freezes when using Netflix with Firefox (early 2015, retina, Monterey 12.0.1)

Hi everyone,

I am using a MacBook, early 2015, Retina. And since I have updated to MacOS Monterey 12.0.1, it freezes (with vertical orange/pink lines across the whole screen) whenever I watch Netflix using Firefox. (After about 2 minutes of watching.) See the photo below. The whole laptop freezes up, it stops working, and I have to do a hard restart.

The problem did not appear in Safe Mode (an idea suggested in an existing but closed thread on the same issue, it seems).

Thank you very much for your help!

Since it does present when booted in to Safe Mode while using Firefox - it would appear Firefox is the source of the issue IMHO.

Does not happen in Safari - hum an idea there ?

Bye the way - Monterey 12.01 is now out dated. As of Monday Dec 13, 2021 - there is an update version 12.1 which brings several big fixes.

A Time Machine Backup should be performed before attempting the 12.1 update
