Gift cards

So I bought this Apple gift card, and whenever I go to buy something, it brings me to my settings to do something, it’ll bring me to where my Visa card, and the Apple gift card I, for one on the visa card it says that it has been declined, and when I go to press on the Apple gift card , It does nothing
