transfer backup from old Ipad to new Ipad

I got a new Generation 6 Ipad and want to transfer the backup from my old Ipad. I launced Itunes, updated the software on my old Ipad and performed a backup. I got to the point in setting up my new Ipad where I selected restore from itues backup. I have a message on my screen indicating I am connected to itunes. I selected the the File button, went to devices and none of the options are turned on. I click on them but nothing happens.
