HD Get Info - Used storage amount wrong.

Hi all, this has been bothering me lately, the used amount of storage should be reading somewhere closer to 155GB but it's wildly out at 423GB - does anyone know why this is?

Mac Mini storage discrepancy On my mac mini (M1, 2020) the hard drive displays the following: Capacity: 994GB Available: 419GB (391GB purgeable) Used: 959 GB What is the meaning of *purgeable*? Why when I just deleted 75GB of files did the available space go from 30GB to 419 GB?

M1 MacBook Pro Storage Reporting Issue I don't understand why the remaining storage space on my MacBook Pro 2T hard drive shows to be so different depending upon the report. In About this Mac/Storage it shows 310GB available. In About this Mac/System Report/Storage it shows only 32GB. And in Get Info is shows 282GB available (250GB purgeable). I've removed a lot of videos (120GB worth). The Mac/Storage report accurately reflects (storage wise) what's been removed but the Mac/System Report/Storage obviously does not. Since it is constantly shrinking, will I have an issue when it gets down to 0? I've never had this issue on other Macs. Thanks!

Hi,

Run Disk Utility > First Aid and see Info again if it's still not correct disk info.

Thanks kaz, I ran that and now it's closer to being accurate (165GB instead of 155GB). I was worried when the MBP froze for a while but it seems good now.
