Apple Watch 2 Pool Swim Workout Accuracy

I have used the Workout App on my Apple Watch 2 for months. Suddenly, when I start swimming, the laps are not counted and the distance is a crazy number. When I finish the workout, the calculations are more or less accurate. Any ideas how I can get the real time accurate feedback that I used to get with my pool swim workouts on the Apple Watch 2?
