Cannot send email following MacOS Mojave 10.14.5 upgrade

since upgrading to the Mojave 10.14.5 I cannot send emails using the mail app. This is not a network issue as if I sign into the web based iCloud from my MacBook Pro (2017) then the emails will send. It applied to my apple account and some other yahoo email accounts that previously worked fine with the app.

Any ideas how this can be rectified?

Why I can't send any email from Mail on my Macbook? Any of the of the accounts that I have, like icloud, gmail, yahoo, is not sending any email at all throughout the Mail, it suddenly stopped working and the emails are getting stuck in the outbox but I can still receive emails. I deleted all the accounts and reinstalled all of them and it is only working via web.

Mail on my MacBook Mail on my MacBook won't send or receive emails, but my webmail account works. My ISP tech support says the problem is not with them. Any suggestions?
